Back in Kalimbuka

I say!

What a wonderful time Mrs M and myself had in good old Blighty, but it's also nice to be back home. I must say, things seem to have changed each time we visit the homeland. What steep prices for everything - more than £1 per litre of petrol - that is nearly Kwacha 300! And so many people standing outside public bars in the rain in order to have a smoke - it would never happen here. And no-one seems to be able to go for more than ten minutes without tapping something into a mobile phone - even when in restaurants.

The purpose of our trip was, of course, to see MM IV off on his trip to Australasia.

Above is a snap of MM IV in Brian Wilson's kitchen. He is on the left, and to the right is his friend who had just suffered an electric shock when he stuck his finger into a socket. In the background is the 'stubby cooler' I gave Mr Wilson which was originally sent to me by Spud's brother.

Below is another snap of him playing drums, in Mr Wilson's recording studio, accompanied by the chap from another planet.

Finally, below, is the departing party at the bus station, en route to London to catch their flight. MM IV is in the middle. I understand that the chap to the right is currently conducting a court case against his hairdresser, and the chap to the left is a wizzard with remote controls - he was able to find me four stations on Brian Wilson's television, each showing cricket matches from different parts of the world. How fortunate!

Cricket in America

I say!

Is it not wonderful that the great game of cricket will soon be very popular in the USA?

A wealthy chap called Allen Stanford is publicising the great game in the States. It will surely only be a mater of time before Americans can appreciate cricket!

Allen is a wonderful lad from Texas. I enjoyed a brief Wadadli in his company down at Third Man, some time back. But how fortunate that he appreciates the world's best competitive game. He built the Stanford Cricket Ground in Antigua and sponsors the 20/20 tournament. Here are some snaps I took of the ground, last year.

As Stanley Unwin would have said..."Deep joy"

Where in the world are these?

I say!

For all of you who like quiz questions, where in the world do you think the pictures below were taken? Answers in a comment, please. Here's a clue - the answers to the first two are not obvious ones.

Number 1 - a bison.

Number 2 - a nice rolling landscape.

Number 3 - two ladies and some camels
